Resurrection Record in Romans

I  Romans 1:1-4  The resurrection and the Son of God

            Matthew 1:23  declared Jesus to be Immanuel (God with us) at His birth

            Matthew 3:17  declared to be the Son of God at His baptism

            Matthew 17:5  declared to be the Son of God at his transfiguration

            Romans1:4     declared to be the Son of God by His resurrection

 

The New Testament is the story of God’s Son

            John 3:16  God so loved   that He gave His only begotten Son

            John 3:17  God sent not His Son to condemn…but to save

            John 3:36   he that believeth on the Son

            John 9:35-38  dost thou believe on the Son of God?

            John 10:36     I said, I am the Son of God

            John 14:1    ye believe in God , believe also in me (The Son)

            John 18:6   when Jesus said “I Am” they fell backwards on the ground

            John 20:31  John wrote that we might believe that Jesus is the Son of God

            1 John 5:10  he that believeth on the Son of God..

            1 John 5:12  he that hath the Son hath life

            1 John 5:20  we know that the Son of God is come.

How any theologian can say that Jesus Christ did not claim to be the Son of God , I know not.  The language is plain . The most important thing one can do is believe in Jesus Christ.      John 6:29

 

II. Romans 4:17-25, 5:1  The resurrection and our sins

            John 1:29  He is God’s lamb who takes away the sin of the world

            2 Corinthians 5:21  He was made sin with out sins

            1 Peter 2:24   He bore our sins on the tree- the cross

            John 19:30   on the cross He said it is finished

            Romans 4:25   He was raised from the dead for, (because) he had put away sin

            We may rightly sing  “Jesus paid it all”

                                                My sin not in part but the whole is nailed to His cross”

            He paid it all or none at all.

 

III  Romans 6:4-10  The resurrection and eternal life

            Knowing Christ is risen, and dieth no more. Death has no more power over Him

            1 Timothy 6:16  Christ hath immortality

            Romans 6:4  He died once

            Romans 6:10  Now He lives.

                        Cf Hebrews 5:9 author of eternal salvation

                        Hebrews 7:16  an endless life

                        Hebrews 9:12 obtained eternal redemption

            His resurrection obtained eternal life for all who believe

            John 10:28  I give unto them eternal life

            Colossians 3:4  Christ is our life.  Can He die?

 

IV  Romans 8:11  The resurrection and our life on earth now.

            Romans 8:9 The Spirit of Christ is in every believer

            ‘Mortal bodies’ means ‘dying bodies’

            Have you ever, as a believer been quickened?

            Philippians 3:10  in the power of his resurrection, & fellowship of His sufferings?

            Philippians 4:13  strengths me

            2 Corinthians 11:30  glory in infirmities?

           2 Corinthians 12:10  in spirituality  ‘weak’ is to be made ‘strong’

 

V   Romans 10:9  The resurrection and salvation

            Is what one believes important?

According to this verse, there is no salvation without ones believing in the resurrection of Christ

For this reason alone, J.W’s are not true Christians

 

VI  Romans 14:9  Christ’s resurrection revealed Him as Lord of all

            Lord of the dead

            Lord of the living

            Question:  Have you crowned Him Lord of your life?

 

            Acts 9:6  Have you said: Lord, what will you have me to do?

            Luke 22:42  not my will but Thine be done?

            Acts 21:14  The will of the Lord be done?
