I The First Adam was created in the image of God

Genesis 1:27 His image was ruined by the fall

Genesis 5:3 Cain was born in the image of his fallen father

The Last Adam is the image of God

Colossians 1:15 is the image of God

Hebrews 1:3 the express image

II Eve was in the First Adam, in the plan of God, before she appeared

Genesis 5:-1-2 created male and female- named Adam

The Church was, in the plan of God, in the Last Adam, before the foundation of the world

Ephesians 1:4 in Him, not an after thought!

III The First Adam willingly chose death because he loved Eve

Genesis 2:17 the day you eat you will die

Genesis 3:6 Eve ate, then Adam ate

1 Timothy 2:13-14 Adam was not deceived, therefore he chose to die because of his love for Eve.

The Last Adam was willing to die because He loved the Church

John 10:18 no man taketh my life

Galatians 2:20 love me, gave Himself for me

1 John 4:19 He first loved us

IV The First Adam had his side wounded to form the first woman, Eve.

Genesis 2:21-23 Eve was taken out-of Adams side

The Last Adam was wounded to produce the Church

Isaiah 53:6 He was wounded

John 19:34 pierced His side

Ephesians 5:25-32 includes a quotation from Genesis

V The First Adam’s fullness was Eve

Genesis 2:22 she was made from Adam’s rib!

The Last Adam’s fullness is the Church

Ephesians 1:22-23 all members of the Church are included

1 Corinthians 6:17 all are joined to the Lord

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 His personal possession

Vl The First Adam was given dominion over all the earth

Genesis 1:16 positively stated

The Last Adam will have dominion over all the earth

Numbers 24:19 he shall have dominion

Psalm 72:8 His dominion shall be from sea to sea

Zechariah 14:9 shall be King over all the earth

VII The First Adam, the first man, was to replenish the earth

Genesis 1:28 cf Genesis 9:1 what God said to Adam He also said to Noah

Genesis 1:30 all were vegetarians (the bear would not eat a lamb!)

The Last Adam, the Second man, will also change things on this earth

1 Corinthians 15:47 He is the Lord from Heaven

Isaiah 11:1-9 describes a changed earth

Matthew 19:28 it will be a regeneration of the earth

Romans 8:19-22 all creation awaits this glorious change

VIII Conclude

As the First man foreshadowed Christ so,

The First woman foreshadowed the Church

1 Corinthians 15:46 the first, was natural , after that the spiritual

This pattern can be found in other subjects in Scripture

e.g. Natural birth is first, spiritual birth is second

God sets aside the first in order that He may establish the second
