Romans 1:32  all men know they will come to judgment

Proverbs 29:26   God will have the final say.

 

Review

 

I  The Judgment of sin

            This judgment took place at Calvary when Christ died, over 2000 years ago.

John 16:8  The Holy Spirit was sent to convict of: sin, righteousness and judgment

John 16:9     of one sin –  because they believe not

John 16:10   of righteousness -  because, righteousness has been provided   Romans 3:23

John 16:11   of judgment –  because the Devil and sin have been judged, a judgment already past, not one yet to come.

The judgment for all sins fell on Christ on the cross

 

II  The Judgment of self

This is for believers now. 

1 Corinthians 11:32  we are to judge ourselves, no one else.

1 John 1:8-2:1-2  we confess to Christ, not to an human priest

 

III  The Judgment of our works

Time- when Christ returns to the air.

Place – the Judgment seat of Christ (in Heaven)

Subjects – believers, only believers

Result  - 1 Corinthians 4:5  it will be a judgment of motives.

We judge actions, (that is not wrong) but we do not judge motives

 

IV  The Judgment of Israel

Remember the 70th week of Daniel will be judgment upon Daniel’s people

Jeremiah 30:7  it will be the time of Jacob’s trouble

Daniel 9:24  it will finish Israel’s transgression and make an end of their sins

Amos 9:9,10   all the sinners of Israel will die.

Isaiah 4:3  all who are left will be holy

Zechariah 13:8  two third of the people will die

Matthew 24:37-41  that is when one shall be taken and the other left

Romans 11:26  all Israel shall be saved as it is written

V.. The Judgment of the Gentiles

 

( God has made and will keep the distinction between Jews and Gentiles who are not in the Church)

Time -  at the Revelation of Jesus Christ

Place  - on earth

Subjects -  Gentiles still on earth during and after the Great Tribulation

Results

Joel 3:9-16  war is judgment

Isaiah 3:25  the  war

Revelation 16:14  the war of God Almighty

Revelation 14:6-7  at that time an angel brings a message – fear God.  Those who do believe and fear God will help the Jews.

Matthew 25:31-46  they will be judged by their treatment of the Israel

 

VI  The Judgment of those dead in their sins

Time – after the 1000 years

Place -  the Great White Throne in space

Subjects – resurrected unbelievers who have died in their sins John 5:28

Result -   Revelation 20:11-15

In Van’s words:  “ men will have no place to hide then”

 

VII  The Judgment of Angels

Time- we are not told

Place – we are not told

Subjects  -  fallen angels

Result  - Jude 6 – they are reserved unto judgment

              Psalm 149: 7-9  Saints will carry out the sentences

              1 Corinthians 6:3  we too, are involved
