I We open our Bibles at 1 Thessalonians

Thessalonians 5:27 “I charge you.. read this epistles to all …

II Timothy 4:1-2 “I charge you.. preach the Word

Paul commends the Thessalonians in Chapter one for:

Vs 3 “their work of faith”

– Vs 9 “ turned to God from idols’

“their labour of love”

- Vs 9 “to serve the living and true God”

“ their patience of hope

–Vs 10 “to wait for God’s Son from Heaven”

Thus their hope was that Christ was Coming again

Paul corrects them in chapter four

Vs 11- to study. Why study if the Lord is coming?

- to work Why work if the Lord is coming?

Vs 13 then, one of their number died, and they were in deep sorrow because they expected all believers to live until the Lord came

That is the background of his writing 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

And we ask you, “if these verses do not teach a Removal or Rapture of the Church, what do they teach?

II Open our Bibles at Titus 2:11-13, Teachings of grace

1. Grace teaches us how we are not to live

a. not in ungodliness cf 2 Peter 2:5-7

b. not in worldly lusts cf 1 Corinthians 10:5-10

2. Grace teaches us how we ought to live.

a. soberly, that is, sensibly

b. righteously – doing right in the sight of men cf James 2:18

c. godly – doing right in the sight of God cf Acts 4:19-20

3. Grace teaches us to live looking for that blessed hope

“Grace people need the blessed hope”

III Open our Bibles at 1 John 3: 2-3

Vs 2- “when He shall appear we shall be like Him.”

That must be the time of our Rapture

That is the time of the blessed, happy, hope of a believer

Vs 3- This is a purifying hope. The low standard of today’s Church

Is a result of ignoring the doctrine of the Rapture

IV Open our Bibles at Romans 13:11

Believer’s have been saved from the guilt of sin

Believer’s are being saved from the power of sin

Believer’s shall be saved from the very presence of sin

When? At the Rapture.

V Open our Bibles at Colossians 3:1-4

Vs 1 seek those things which are above

Vs 2 set your affection on things above

Vs 3 for ye are dead, that is, separated,from things below

And your life is hid with Christ in God

Vs 4 when Christ shall appear, we will appear with him in glory

1 Corinthians 15:51 it will take place in a moment

VI Open our Bibles at 1 Corinthians 15:51-58

These verses also explain the Rapture, to take place in a moment of time. That gives reason to speak of a “secret rapture” What can be seen in an ‘eye twink’?

VII Open our Bibles at 2 Thessalonians 2:1

The Rapture will be our gathering unto Him; not only by Him but unto Him. And I shall see Him- face to face

He will be the attraction. All eyes will be on Him

VIII Open our Bibles at Jude 24

This verse will have complete fulfillment at the Rapture.

It will be His day of joy.

IX Summary

Titus 2:13 the Rapture is our blessed hope

I John 3:3 the Rapture is our purifying hope

Romans 5:2 the Rapture is our joyful hope

Romans 8:24-25 the Rapture is our saving hope

Romans 15:13 the Rapture is our abounding hope

2 Thessalonians 2:19 the Rapture is our good hope

Hebrews 6:19 the Rapture is our sure, steadfast hope

1 Peter 1:13 the Rapture is our living hope

Remember, the Rapture is not our reward, but rather the completion of our salvation.
