How God
sees People
Lesson XI
Solomon- I
Introduction
I
believe it was Campbell Morgan who wrote:
“Solomon wrote the Song of Solomon
when he was young and in love
He wrote the Proverbs when wise and
mature.
He wrote Ecclesiastes when old and
disgruntled.” We add: old and carnal
I
Solomon had advantage and began his life well.
Proverbs 4:1-4
he tells us that his
father taught him
II 1
Chronicles 28:9,10 outlines what His Father taught him.
a. Know the God of thy father.
Young people, if you do not begin
your life of service getting to know your God,
your motives will become wrong
Philippians 3:10
b. Serve Him with a perfect
heart. Perfect here means “mature”
1 Peter
c Serve Him with a willing mind
2 Corinthians
1 Peter 5:2 notice
the word “willingly”
Nehemiah 4:6 the
people had a mind to work
1 Corinthians
Malachi
d The Lord searcheth
all hearts
We say it again: Christianity is heart business
1 Corinthians 4:5 He will manifest the counsels of the hearts
Deuteronomy 28:47-48
serve Him with
gladness or it will be with sadness
e (He) understandeth
all the imaginations of the thoughts
Genesis 6:5 before the flood- imaginations evil
continually
Genesis
Psalm 139:1-3 thou knowest
Proverbs
1 Samuel 16:7 the Lord looks on the heart
f If thou seek Him , He will be found
of thee
James 4:8 you draw nigh He will draw nigh
Colossians 3:2
seek those things
which are above
Matthew
Proverbs 3:6 He will direct thy paths
g If thou forsake Him, He will forsake
him, he will cast thee off for ever
Know that this is not talking about your salvation but about your
service.
As
we shall learn the Lord did forsake Solomon . Jesus Christ did not come from the seed of
Solomon, but through the seed of David’s son Nathan.
Luke
