Subject What Saul, renamed Paul, became after Jesus Christ changed his life
Many of these thoughts gathered from
reading a book written by Albert Hughes, March 11, 1947.
1
Corinthians 15:9-10 Paul’s testimony
I Paul
became a great Missionary
Romans 15:20 - preaching the gospel
where the Name of Christ was unknown
From
the Scriptures we learn that a missionary is one who is sent to preach Christ
where Christ has never been named
A
missionary is a person with a mission because he or she has a message
to deliver.
II Paul
became a great preacher
Romans
1:14-15 he
felt he owed a debt.
1 Corinthians 9:16 woe is me if I preach not the gospel.
Acts 20:
17-20 Paul said of himself: “in all seasons
serving the Lord, going from house to house testifying the gospel of the grace
of God” in Ephesus..”
Paul was never an actor.
1
Corinthians 1:23 He preached Christ crucified. He was aflame because the truth lived in him”.
“No preacher can be successful unless his
soul is on fire. Whatever else is said
of Paul’s preaching, he was always on fire.” (Hughes)
III Paul
became a great man of prayer.
Acts 9:11 , this is when Paul really prayed for the
first time
Acts 16:13 prayer,
also verse 16 and 20
Acts 20:36-38 prays
with the Ephesian Elders
Acts 21:5 he
kneeled down and prayed with a company on the shore
Romans 1:9 he
prays for the Roman saints
Romans 10:1 he
prays for his Jewish relatives in the flesh
2 Corinthians 1:11 ye
help by prayer
Ephesians 1:16; 3:14, he prays for the
Philippians 1:3,4,9, he prays for the Philippians
Colossians 1:3-9 he prays for the Colossians
1 Thessalonians 1:2 He
prays for the Thessalonians
IV Conclude:
You may never be a missionary or a
preacher. But all can become people of prayer
2 Corinthians 4:4 pray that minds be opened
Acts 16:14 that hearts will be opened
Acts 26:18 that eyes will be opened
Luke 24:32 that the Scriptures
will be opened. etc
