Text 1 Peter 3:15

Being ready to give reasons to those who ask about the hope you have.

The basic reason is: We believe in God. So the Question: Why do we believe in God?

First - because of Creation

Second - because of a Nation in creation called Israel

Third - because a very special Person has come from that Nation, Jesus Christ

Fourth - because of a well known Institution produced by that Person –The Church

I Jesus Christ said He would build a Church.

Matthew 16:18 I will build my Church

Acts 2:47 The Lord added to the Church

Church history began about 2000 years ago, the reason for reading Acts one.

II There are visible Churches everywhere.

These are found in ‘Christendom.’. A term that covers all who name the name of Christ. But in Christendom there are two kinds of Churches. False & True

III The true Church, for want of a better word, is Invisible

2 Timothy 2:19 The Lord knoweth them that are his.

1 John 5:13 we can know that we are his.

Believer’s in Jesus Christ are added to the true Church.

IV What takes place when one believes?

1. One is born of God 1 John 5:1 “born of God”

John 1:11-13 born…of God

John3:6-8 born of the Spirit

1 Peter 1:23 born of incorruptible seed

Is this seen or unseen? 2 Corinthians 4:18

2.. One becomes a child, a son of God

Galatians 3:26 children of God by faith

1 John 3:2 now are we the sons of God

Ephesians 2:3,until we believe, children of wrath

3 One is freely justified

Acts 13:38,39 justified from all things

Acts 10:43 believe is to receive forgiveness of sins

Romans 4:25 - 5:1 raised for our justification-therefore

4 One receives eternal life

John 3:16 every lasting life

John 3:36 hath everlasting life

John 5:24 hath everlasting life

John 6:47 believeth hath ever lasting life

John 20:31 believing have life

Colossians 3:3 your life is hid with Christ in God
