Advent Events-Lesson II
Hate

Review;
The First
Event
of the Second Advent of Christ will be the Rapture of the Church as described,
primarily, in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
I Text Matthew 24:9
“
and ye shall be hated of all nations for my sake..”
It shall be our purpose to give the
reasons why we believe that this verse, and all of Matthew chapter 24, is
primarily to
II Matthew 24, & 25 are a recorded message preached
by Jesus before His cross-work.
Romans 15:8 Jesus Christ was a minister of the
circumcision, that is: the Jews
Matthew 15:24 I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of
Matthew 25:40

brethren - the Jew s
John 1:11 He came to His own, and his own
received him not.-.the Jews
John 4:9 Jesus Himself was identified as a Jew
Matthew 27:37
When He died, he did so as
Jesus the King of the Jews This
fact is recorded in Matthew, Mark , Luke and John
III Matthew 23:37-39 is the background to Matthew 24
1.
Vs 37 O Jerusalem , including the people
of that Nation, had killed the prophets.
Cf
2 Chronicles 36:11-16, Acts 7:52, now, they had rejected Christ
2
Vs 38-Mark11:15-17 and
John 2:15-16 “My Father’s house” in these verses.
Jesus now calls it “your
house” is left unto you desolate.
“You” in this context means what people, if not the Jews?
3
Vs. 39 Ye shall not see me
again. No it does not say that!
“For I say unto you.
Ye shall not see me ‘till ye shall say….”
We ask: when Jesus said
“you” and “ye” to whom was He speaking?
IV Matthew 24:1-2
1.
Jesus went out, and departed from the temple in
2.
The Disciples proudly show him the buildings of the temple
3.
Jesus predicts a total destruction of that temple
This is the first
predicted event in Matthew 24.
4.
When the Roman, Titus, came in A.D 70 and destroyed that
temple, was the prediction fulfilled naturally or literally?
Will other prophecies,
in this chapter, not have the same kind of fulfillment ?
V Matthew

1. They had walked east of
2. Mark 13:3 Mark tell us who “they” were
3 Mark
9:1-2 These men had been with
Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration
Cf Matthew 16:28 they: would
“see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom”
Luke 9:27-28 see the
This kingdom of which the text
speaks had not yet come, it also is a prophecy
4 2 Peter 1:16-18 On the Mount of
Transfiguration , Peter, James and John had
a preview of the Coming
Kingdom of Christ, coming in power and great glory.
5.
Matthew 24:3 Peter,
James and John, had three questions.
1. When shall the stones of the temple be thrown
down?
2. What shall be the sign of Thy coming? (Certainly the Second Coming)
3 And of the end of the world
?
VI Matthew 24:4 “Jesus answered them.” So consider this chapter the answer to these
questions. The answer,
includes events that are separated by many years. We shall consider some of these events in
these studies. Note: these men connected the Second Coming with the end of an
age of this world.
VII Matthew 24:9 “…ye shall be hated of all
Nations”
My question is: to whom
did Jesus refer as being “hated of all Nations?”
Is He not talking to His
people and about His people, the Jews ?
VIII We conclude
One of the great signs
or events that will precede the Second Coming of Christ,
will be a world-wide hatred of the Jews.
John 15:19 we as believer’s are hated because we
belong to Christ. The Jews will be hated
simply and only because they are of the Jewish Nation.
Are we not seeing the
Nations building up hatred against the Nation of Israel?
Today hate is simmering
in the pot, in the Tribulation it will come to a boiling point!
