I This is thanksgiving Sunday, we thank God
that:

We have a Bible and we believe it Romans 15:13
2. We believe in the Rapture 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
“In this event the movement is upward from earth
to Heaven (Chafer)

We believe in the Return of Christ in a great Revelation of
Himself
“ in this event the movement
is downward
, from Heaven to earth” (Chafer)
II The great theme of Matthew 24 is the Second Advent or Second Coming
of Christ from Heaven back to this earth.
Read verses 29, 30.
III Matthew 24:24 Just before Christ returns:
There shall arise false Christs, and false prophets
2 Peter 2:1, 2 Timothy 4:3-4 is the warning to the Church, of an end-times
turning from the true to the false.
We cannot afford to take
the things of God lightly or in frivolity.
Zepheniah3:4 “light” and “treacherous” go along together.
IV Matthew 24:25-26 take the lesson to heart
Do not believe everything you hear,
now or then
V Matthew
24:27 The Second Coming will not be a
silent event!
Some stumble over a
Secret Rapture 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 That which takes place “in
the twinkling of an eye” will be secret
in that sense.
But the Second Coming
will in no wise be secret
Revelation 1:7
every eye shall see Him!
VI Matthew 24:28 is proof, to me, of the Inspiration of the Scriptures
Why should such a text be
here? The Holy Spirit knows why!
2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 He
is coming to take vengeance.
Psalm 2:1-9 verse
8 should not be used as a missionary text!
Revelation 19:11 He
comes to make war
