Study….the Word of truth

John 17:17 thy Word is truth

Psalms 40:7 what volume? What book?

1 John 5:10 record God gave

Student for God’s approval

So one will not be ashamed of one’s work

By rightly dividing the Word of truth

In these lessons we divide the Bible doctrine of Salvation from that of Service

I Salvation is a free gift from God

Service is our work for God

II Salvation is one coming to Christ

Service is one following after Christ

III Salvation is receiving a new life

Ephesians 2:1 you hath he quickened, that is made alive

John 3:36 believe have life

John 5:24 believe.. hath everlasting life

1 John 5:11,12 given eternal life

2 Corinthians 5:17 in Christ a new creation

Service-work for Christ is to enjoy life

John 10:10 life more abundant

1 Timothy 6: 17 given all things to enjoy

1 Timothy 2:2 only possible in godliness and honesty

Ephesians 2:10 created in Christ unto good works

Titus 2:12 grace teaches us how to live

1 Timothy 6:6 godliness with contentment is great gain

IV Salvation makes one a saint

1 Corinthians 1:2 called saints

1 Corinthians 11:17-21 not very saintly

“Saint” is the family name of all who believe

It is not the Church that makes people saints, the Lord does

Service makes one a disciple

John 8:31-32 continue then are ye disciples indeed

A disciple is a follower, learning by discipline.

Some saints are poor disciples

Matthew 26:35 Peter’s boast

John 18:10 Peter used his sword

Matthew 26: 69-75 Peter’s failure as a disciple

Luke 22:31-32 The Lord knew all about it before Peter failed!
