There is no true understanding the scriptures without rightly dividing the Word.

Review

I Salvation is a gift. Service has to do with works

When we read Revelation 2:2 we know the subject matter is not salvation

II In Salvation one comes to Christ. In Servcie one follows after Christ

True service is not possible without salvation

III Salvation is receiving life. Service is a result of that life

IV Salvation makes one a saint. Servcie makes one a disciple

V Salvation is being justified in God’s sight. Servcie, justified in the sight of men.

VI Salvation is receiving a gift of rest.

Matthew 11:28 come- I will give you rest

Hebrews 4:9-10 rest for people who cease trying to work for it

Service is finding rest for our souls

Matthew 11:29 take my yoke and learn

Hebrews 11:11,12 labouring in the Word

Psalms 103:7 we learn the ways of God from the Word of God.

VII Salvation is receiving peace with God.

Romans 5:1 being justified we have peace with God

Ephesians 2:14 Christ is our peace

Colossians 1:20 by Christ on the cross peace was made

Service is finding, enjoying the peace of God

Philippians 4:6-9 peace that passeth our understanding

Matthew 6:34 no thought for tomorrow

1 Peter 5:7 casting your care on Him

Colossians 3:15 it is letting the peace of God rule

VIII Salvation has to do with our relationship

As believers our relationship comes by the new birth

John 1:12-13 believe , receive, and belong

John 3:1-7 there is a birth from above

1 Peter 1:23 it is born of incorruptible seed

1 John 3:2 now are we the sons of God

One is born into the family of God

Service has to do with our fellowship

1 John 1:1-9 walking in the light we have fellowship
