Lesson XIX

Time and Eternity

Lesson I

I  Time may be divided into three periods, all connected with two major events

1.   The time before the first coming of Jesus Christ

      From Adam’s fall until the coming of Christ

  1. The time since the first coming of Jesus Christ until the events of the second 

Coming.

Being the ‘age of grace’ we know not how long it will be

  1. The time after the second coming.

We are told it will be for 1000 years

 

II  Before the first period of time we face such doctrines as:

            Genesis 1:1      the Creator of all creation

            Genesis 2:7,22 the creation and beginning of the human race

            Genesis 3:1,19  the serpent, the fall of the human race that brought death

 

III During the entire period men of faith offered sacrifices

 

 

 

 


The altar pointing backward to the fall, and forward to the cross.

 

Without the fact of the fall the altar was not necessary.  We cannot understand the Bible or the gospel if we do not understand the reality of the fall.

That same altar pointed forward, and without the Cross of Christ, the altar is without any true meaning.
